Who’s Number One 30 is scheduled for October 24th, 2025 and to celebrate an important milestone, the promotion has put together an exciting lineup for an 8-man Openweight tournament. There’s a few ADCC medalists involved and several ADCC Trials winners across a pretty wide range of weight classes, giving fans plenty of matches they might not have seen otherwise. There will likely be a handful of superfights on the preliminary card as well, but so far this tournament is the only thing to be announced for the event. It hasn’t quite filled up yet either, as the 8th spot is being given to the winner of a qualifier tournament.
247 Fighting Championships are hosting the qualifier tournament and 8 top competitors from the local Pittsburgh area will be competing. Jeric Fry, Ken Burrs, Damian Lascoli, Jake Lowry, Alex Hudic, Gerry Rayburn, Tanner Hall, and Justin Michael will be battling it out for that final invite on October 18th. Although whoever wins that tournament will likely be the underdog, there’s a pair of young grapplers who are also looking to make an impact at WNO 30 too. Pat Shahgholi is one of the top 10th Planet heavyweight prospects and he’s no stranger to big stages like this, while Michael Sainz has been waking waves over the last year or two and will be a big threat here.
They will have some huge challenges to overcome if they want to win though, most notably the ADCC 2024 absolute bronze medalist Dante Leon. Although Leon is smaller than some of the other men here, he’s beaten some of the best in the world from weight classes above him plenty of times before. He isn’t the only man here to medal at ADCC 2024 though; as Felipe Costa also came away with a bronze medal, but his was from the under 88kg division. He will be joined by another member of that division from last year, the exciting young grappler Achilles Rocha.
Then the final competitor from around that same weight is Roberto Jimenez, although he has been steadily moving up over the last years. Where he was once an under 77kg competitor all the way back at ADCC 2022, he’s since been going between under 83kg and 94kg for other events and will likely turn up around that weight for WNO 30. Undoubtedly the heaviest man in the division will be Declan Moody though, as he’s historically only competed at under or over 99kg. He’s also not a typical heavier grappler and while he can play that game, he’s much more well-rounded than most at that weight.
