Rise Invitational 11 is scheduled to take place on April 1st, 2023 and the promotion has managed to book several top MMA fighters alongside elite BJJ competitors for the event. The main event is guaranteed to produce a fair bit of action as recently-promoted 10th Planet black belt Rene Sousa will be facing off against UFC veteran Randy Brown. Brown has been fighting in the UFC for over seven years now and has been working his way up the welterweight rankings but Rene Sousa has been in fantastic form lately and of course, grappling is his world more than Brown’s.
Shortly before that the co-main event features one of the most exciting leglockers in the sport, Robert Degle. He will be looking to put on a show against Bronx Jiu-Jitsu black belt Andrew Franco. There are a ton of other exciting grappling matches at the event, including one between the reigning atomweight Invicta FC champion Jillian DeCoursey and Chelsea Mapa. Former top B-Team Jiu-Jitsu competitor and current representative of Kings MMA Nick Ortiz is also competing, and he will be facing Christian Medina.
There will be a number of matches between young and talented grapplers too, and superfight lineups like this often provide a great opportunity to see the next generation of top competitors. Rise Invitational 11 will also feature a women’s 135lbs tournament that will include UFC veteran Sijara Eubanks as one of the entrants. She won’t have an easy path to victory at all though, as the lineup also includes top young grappler Trinity Pun and former Invicta FC bantamweight world champion Taneisha Tennant. Kristen Walsh and Beatrice Jin will also be tough opponents for anyone who comes up against them in the tournament, as will Nicole Mathew and Emily Sanchez.
The full Rise Invitational 11 event will be available to watch live on April 1st, 2023 on FloGrappling.
