Quintet Fight Night 6 is right around the corner and it seems like the promotion is following what appears to be a recent trend in professional grappling of staging an all-female event. The brainchild of Kazushi Sakuraba, this will mark the tenth event that the promotion has managed to set up with them having done three fully numbered events, one MMA-inspired event in Quintet Ultra, and five previous fight night events. This makes Quintet the Team Grappling promotion with the highest number of events under their belt, along with the fact that they’re routinely cited as the best team grappling format for fan satisfaction.

Those rules will see one minor change when it comes to their first all-female event however, as there will only be three teams competing instead of the usual four. Normally, the teams will compete in a straight knockout format with the opening round determining which two teams will meet in the final and compete for the grand prize. This time however, the three teams will compete in a round-robin format instead so that fans will still get to see the same number of overall matches with less competitors. This will also mark the promotion’s first event of 2021, with their last outing being Quintet Fight Night 5 back in October 2020.
