Quintet 5 took place on October 23rd, 2025 and the promotion’s first visit to Dubai delivered the kind of results that can only be considered a resounding success. Four teams battled it out and each match was fairly close, despite the fact that two teams stood out as clear favorites in the beginning. Team Sakuraba and Team Renzo Gracie MMA were up first, and Andre Cantanhede gave the latter an early lead by submitting Daisuke Nakamura with a kneebar. He was submitted in the next match by Igor Tanabe, and Tanabe took his tally up to two triangle choke finishes against Delson Raimundo to secure Team Sakuraba’s place in the final.
Team Bangtao were the favorites on the other side of the bracket but neither them nor Team Nogueira could score a single submission win. It all went down to the final match between Lucas ‘Hulk’ Barbosa and Pouya Rahmani, where Rahmani put Team Nogueira into the final thanks to a judges’ decision. Nikolay Vetrov put Team Nogueira ahead early in the match with Team Sakuraba by heel hooking Taisei Sakuraba, but Haisam Rida quickly fired back by submitting Mido Mohamed with an armbar. Rahmani proved to be the perfect anchor once again, as he dislocated Nakamura’s elbow with a brutal kimura that gave Team Nogueira the victory in the final match.
