ONE Championship is quickly becoming the home for regular elite grappling action and their most recent staging of two events in one day was no exception. First up was ONE 160, which featured an epic grappling match between Tommy Langaker and Renato Canuto. Langaker won a convincing decision and showed some fantastic skill in taking the back on his way there, earning himself a stunning $50,000 performance bonus as a result. He managed to show that he will be a force to be reckoned with when he makes his debut at ADCC 2022 and definitely put a strong case forward for a chance at the ONE Championship Lightweight submission grappling world title.
Shortly after that event, ONE Championship made it’s first appearance on Amazon Prime with ONE on Amazon Video 1. Although the card was headlined by a fantastic flying knee knockout from Demetrious Johnson and a phenomenal first-round finish by Nong-O Gaiyanghadao in a Muay Thai title fight, there was also some elite grappling action earlier in the card. Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida moved to 4-0 in his professional MMA career by registering a beautiful first-round heelhook finish of Kirill Grishenko. This was actually Buchecha’s fourth first-round finish and his third submission finish in total.
