Polaris has just announced the lineup for the North American team at the Polaris Squads Intercontinental Championship 2025. This is the second team to be fully confirmed, as the promotion revealed the lineup for the European team first. Although that’s only half the teams for the full tournament, these two continents will be going head to head in the first match of the year at Polaris 31 on February 8th, 2025. The promotion has yet to announce the next stage of their inaugural Squads Intercontinental Championship, but the most likely choice is for the South American and Asia and Oceania teams to take to the mats next.

The North American team have plenty of experience in the lineup for the Intercontinental Championship 2025, starting with Polaris welterweight grand prix winner PJ Barch. He isn’t the only one who’s already stepped on the Polaris mats a few times though, as the lightest competitor on the team has had some impressive performances for the promotion lately. Julian Espinosa is that grappler and he’s looking to maintain his undefeated Polaris record against the best that Europe has to offer. Top Canadian competitor Kieran Kichuk is also representing North America and although he’s only had a single match for the promotion, he was very successful in his debut at Polaris 30.

ADCC veteran Chris Wojcik is also competing on behalf of North America and although he might not be as experienced as some of his teammates, he’s already proven that he’s one of the best competitors in the world. Michael Perez has stepped in to replace an injured Jason Rau, adding to the collective Polaris experience that the team has. The final member of the team was originally going to be Jacob Couch, but he also withdrew due to injury and Devhonte Johnson has been drafted in to replace him. With the team now complete, it’ll be interesting to see whether North America or Europe can get off to a good start at Polaris 31.

Polaris announced the North American team lineup for the Polaris Squads Intercontinental Championship 2025 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
