Nicky Rodriguez has announced that he will be following his training partners, Gordon Ryan and Craig Jones, all the way to Puerto Rico in order to continue training with them. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise seeing as John Danaher revealed that he will be leading the new gym in Puerto Rico and has been down there with the Ryan brothers for some time now, Rodriguez said he intends to move there on or around January 15th 2021.

Gordon Ryan already announced that he and Danaher had planned to have their gym up and running by March next year, and now it seems like more and more of the Danaher Death Squad are getting to Puerto Rico in time to set things up. It looks as though there haven’t been any hiccups in the development of their new gym as yet, judging from the steady arrival of their elite team members. It’s only three months now before a new hotspot for high-level Jiu-Jitsu appears on the map just outside the mainland United States.

Nicky Rodriguez made the announcement of his impending move to Puerto Rico in a post on Tom DeBlass’ official Instagram account. Deblass had nothing but good words to say about Rodriguez after rolling with him for the first time in a long time, praising not just the athleticism of the hulking Rodriguez but also the development of his skills in recent times. He went on to say that “I truly feel that no one knows how to pass guard worth shit, besides Gordon. Well, I’ll tell you Nicky knows how also!!!”
