One of the most popular competitors to ever emerge from 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu, Nathan Orchard has just been promoted to third degree black belt by Eddie Bravo, the founder and head coach of the global affiliation. Orchard has been competing at the highest levels of the sport for quite some time now and over the years he’s managed to rack up some wins against some impressive names. He’s defeated the likes of AJ Agazarm and Masakazu Imanari during his time as a competitor and has been a prominent figure in both the Combat Jiu-Jitsu World Championship and EBI tournaments.
He frequently competes in team grappling tournaments too, most notably at Polaris Squads 3 where he represented Team USA and helped drive them to victory by submitting Kieran Davern. He has also represented 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu in a team tournament recently too, when he competed in the very first Combat Jiu-Jitsu Worlds Team Duel and again helped his team to victory. Orchard is known as one of the most exciting and innovative grapplers and is perhaps best-known for creating the ‘Dead Orchard’, a submission that has since found it’s way into competitions all around the planet.
Most recently, Orchard was seen challenging Ethan Crelinsten for the lightweight world championship at Polaris 24. Although he wasn’t successful in that attempt, it likely won’t be long before fans get to see Orchard back in action on the mats soon. There’s no news on where Orchard will be competing next just yet but one thing is for sure, he’s going to bring the same energy and creativity that he’s been bringing to every competition he’s entered over the last few years.
Nathan Orchard announced the news that he had been promoted to third degree black belt by Eddie Bravo in a recent post to his official Instagram account:
