Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 1 is booked for July 1st, 2023 and the new promotion has just finished announcing a stacked women’s 145lbs tournament lineup along with several excellent superfights. The main event is an exciting matchup between Andrew Tackett and Derek Rayfield, one that promises to provide plenty of entertainment for the fans watching. Top 10th Planet black belt Ben Eddy will be facing Chris Wojcik, while Lauren Sears will be facing Ana Garcia in a rematch of the 2022 IBJJF no gi world championship brown belt final.
Among a few other fun matches lined up for the event, New Wave Jiu-Jitsu prospect Reese LaFever is coming up against Chase Sosa and Michael Esquivel is facing Dominic Ramos. Of course, one of the biggest attractions for Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 1 is the tournament in the women’s 145lbs division, which has managed to attract several top competitors to the lineup. There are a few women who stand out as potential winners immediately, and it’s incredibly tough to determine which of these 16 women are going to be able to emerge victorious.
Trinity Pun and Amanda Loewen both have a huge amount of experience competing at a high level, but both Nora Shultz and Kiaya Jackson have been putting in several impressive performances lately. Just booking these four women alone would have been some great matchmaking but Sheliah Lindsey, Nicole Mathew, Ally Wolski and Stephanie Cline have been added to the lineup too. There are plenty of women capable of providing an upset in the division as well, with the bracket being rounded out by Gabrielle Gomez, Charise Parra, Andrea Amaro, Marisol Camarillo, Erica Barnes, Estrella Garcia, Rachel Ranschau and Gabrielle Villafuerte.
The full women’s 145lbs tournament lineup and the superfights booked for Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 1 on July 1st, 2023 were announced in a series of posts to the promotion’s official Instagram account.
