The latest production from the mind of Eddie Bravo, Medusa, has taken off quicker than anyone could’ve expected and the results of event Medusa 2 speak for themselves. The promotion focuses exclusively on female grapplers and stages two different tournaments on the same night, under both EBI and Combat Jiu-Jitsu rulesets. The first event was a roaring success, and the second event has quickly followed suit. The first of two new champions was crowned as Sophia Cassella had a fantastic performance in the EBI Strawweight tournament, submitting two out of her three opponents on the way to gold.
Aislinn O’Connell had similar success In the Combat Jiu-Jitsu Bantamweight tournament as she managed to submit all three of her opponents, although two of them took her all the way to overtime before getting caught. O’Connell had tough matches against the veteran Vanessa Demopoulos and the ever-exciting Fatima Kline, but neither of them was able to stop her meteoric rise to the top.
