This article is part of our Craig Jones Invitational 2024 coverage. To get live results, play by play, and commentary, we’ll have a live updates article running all weekend.

Two more top competitors have joined the Craig Jones Invitational, as both Max Gimenis and Adam Bradley have been announced for the over 80kg division. Both of them have gotten some fantastic results lately and will be tough to beat, no matter who they come up against in the tournament. The lineup for the over 80kg division is already looking impressive, even though it’s still being announced at the time of writing. Although there are already some top contenders emerging, both Gimenis and Bradley still be entertaining competitors to watch as the bracket unfolds.

Max Gimenis was the first one of the two announced, and he’s coming in fresh off a fantastic performance in his most recent grappling match earlier this year. He earned a convincing decision win over Dan Manasoiu at the inaugural Pit Submission Series event, and that experience in the famous pit will no doubt come in handy at the Craig Jones Invitational. Gimenis has remained active on the IBJJF circuit too, but outside of his appearance at ADCC 2022 he’s been focusing more on his professional MMA career. With a 4-1 professional MMA record and almost a decade competing at the highest level in grappling, Gimenis will be able to give anyone a challenging match.

Adam Bradley might be less well-known than Max Gimenis but he’s no less of a threat in the over 80kg division at the Craig Jones Invitational. He only narrowly missed out on winning the ADCC North American West Coast Trials 2024 and in fact, there was some controversy around point-scoring that led to many fans to believe he should’ve been the rightful winner. When competitors started to drop out for the Craig Jones Invitational, Bradley was then handed an invite to compete at ADCC 2024 as a replacement. Now it seems as though he’s had more than one opportunity offered to him, and he’s chosen to compete in the Craig Jones Invitational instead.

The Craig Jones Invitational announced the news that Max Gimenis and Adam Bradley would be joining the lineup for the over 80kg division in a series of posts to their official Instagram account:
