The Eddie Bravo Invitational is making it’s return in 2022 with EBI 19, the promotion’s first event in over three years. EBI represents the very first promotional venture that 10th Planet founder Eddie Bravo embarked upon back in 2014, one that was a resounding success and provided a launching platform to some of the best grapplers on the planet right now. That’s why there was such a great response from fans when Bravo made the announcement that EBI 19 was going to be scheduled for some time in 2022.
The announcement was made during the live broadcast of the Middleweight edition of Bravo’s second promotion, the Combat Jiu Jitsu world championships. Interestingly, that event actually took place on the same day as the first edition of his third promotion, his first all-female tournament format Medusa. As yet, there has been no confirmation on what specific date EBI will be making it’s return in 2022 but it will take place in the Welterweight division and the lineup itself has started to be revealed.
One of the favorites to win the tournament will likely be Tye Ruotolo, who has been on an absolute tear lately since winning the WNO Championships. Two men who’ve spent a lot of time training with and learning from John Danaher will also be competing, B-Team’s Nicky Ryan and the recent European, Middle-Eastern, and African ADCC trials winner Oliver Taza. The final two competitors announced for return of the Eddie Bravo Invitational are 10th Planet’s Nathan Orchard and one of Canada’s most impressive grappling talents, Dante Leon, who will both have great chances of coming out on top at EBI 19.
The upcoming EBI 19 event will be available to watch live on UFC FightPass, although the date has yet to be announced, click here to subscribe and watch.
