Polaris 24 is scheduled to take place on June 3rd, 2023 and the promotion has just booked an excellent matchup between Keith Krikorian and Tom Halpin for the event. Both men are ADCC veterans and they both won their positions at the world’s most prestigious no gi grappling tournament the hard way, by battling through a field of tough competitors at ADCC trials. They competed at entirely different editions of the ADCC world championships though, with Halpin competing there first back in 2019 and Krikorian reaching the peak of professional grappling in 2022.
Both of them are known for having exciting styles and consistently putting on a show once they hit the mats, so it seems like this match is almost guaranteed to produce fireworks. Polaris has already put together some excellent matches for their 24th event, so this really is acting like the icing on the cake. They actually announced the main event during the live broadcast of their last event, and Ashley Williams has been booked to defend his lightweight belt an unusual challenger in ADCC bronze medallist and UFC veteran Ryan Hall.
The co-main event has also been confirmed already, and it’s yet another battle for one of the promotion’s belts. Jed Hue will be making his first defense of the welterweight belt against yet another ADCC veteran in Mateusz Szczcecinski. The full running order for Polaris 24 hasn’t been confirmed just yet but with the top two spots in the billing already occupied with title-fights, it seems likely that the match between Keith Krikorian and Tom Halpin will take place immediately before those. With a few more matches yet to be announced for the main card, this event is shaping up to be one of the best that Polaris has ever staged already.
The news that Keith Krikorian and Tom Halpin are going to meet on the mats at Polaris 24 was announced in a post to the promotion’s official Instagram account:
