John Danaher has 3 of his students competing at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4 on June 29th, 2023 and he’s just decided to take some time to break down the lineup for the event. It’s set to be one of the most impressive professional grappling events of the year so far, with several fantastic superfights alongside a stacked absolute tournament with a $30,000 grand prize. It’s set to be a great night of high-level grappling action from start to finish, and there aren’t many people on the planet better positioned to give their thoughts on the card than Danaher.
Dan Manasoiu is Danaher’s only student competing in the absolute tournament, but he does have two more competitors from New Wave Jiu-Jitsu in superfights at the event as well. Helena Crevar is one of the more recent additions to the team and she’s already established herself as a top prospect in the sport at just 16 years old. Crevar has beaten many adult competitors already, but she faces one of her toughest challenges yet as she takes on black belt Emily Fernandez.
Then shortly before the co-main event, another of Danaher’s top competitors will be taking to the mats as well. Nicholas Meregali faces off against Roberto ‘Cyborg’ Abreu in an excellent match between two generations of competitors that is guaranteed to produce some fireworks. Although John Danaher doesn’t have any more athletes at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4, he does also have a great insight into the main event too. That’s because his former student Craig Jones will be taking on Felipe Pena, the man that Gordon Ryan has prepared to compete against multiple times in his career.
