Registration is now closed for the IBJJF No Gi World Championship 2025 and with that, it officially becomes the biggest edition of the tournament ever. It is a testament to just how much the sport has grown over the past few years and the IBJJF has been at the forefront of that movement. The promotion has held their place as the top Jiu-Jitsu tournament organizer in the world for decades now and despite the rise in popularity of ADCC Open events, they still own the top spot. By spreading their reach all around the world and holding both smaller tournaments and major events across every continent, they’ve been able to dominate the sport.
This edition of the IBJJF No Gi World Championship has attracted more than 4,000 competitors across all available belt levels and age brackets, and hundreds of medals will be given out by the time it’s over. The tournament will take place over three days from December 11th to 13th and there’s going to be thousands of matches between talented grapplers. It’s not as if it’s just full of colored belts and masters competitors either; the adult black belt divisions are all looking stacked this year. There are more than 260 adult black belts competing and with just 19 titles on the line, the competition will be fierce.
This is just the latest record-breaking IBJJF event too, as Jiu-Jitsu Con 2023 managed to attract an incredible 10,000 competitors thanks to including both kids and white belts. Given that both the gi and no gi world championships are only available for colored belts, 4,000 grapplers hitting the mats is a remarkable number. It also shows that even though ADCC is often said to be the world’s most prestigious no gi grappling tournament, the IBJJF No Gi World Championship still holds a very special place in the sport. It’s a key goal for many competitors at all levels, as is winning a no gi grand slam.
The full IBJJF No Gi World Championship 2025 event, including all of the 4,000 competitors who are making it the biggest edition ever, will be available to watch live from December 11th to 13th, 2025 on FloGrappling, click here to subscribe and watch.
