The results are in for High Rollerz 23 and the promotion really pulled out all the stops on January 21st, 2023 in the end, putting together a fantastic event that was headlined by UFC veteran Merab Dvalishvili. High Rollerz always manage to create fun and enjoyable events and they tend to like to give each event a completely unique feel compared to their previous ones. Other than one of the UFC‘s top bantamweight contenders competing in a grappling match, they also managed to introduce something fresh for their 23rd event.
High Rollerz decided to stage their very first wrestling tournament the day before this event and the final match of that bracket took place during the preliminary card. Shortly after the conclusion of their first wrestling event, High Rollerz veteran Damien Nitkin managed to emerge victorious in an eight-man over 175lbs tournament. Another frequent competitor on the High Rollerz stage competed in the co-main event, as purple belt IBJJF Pan champ Zaira Cousins got the win against Katharina Lehner.
Then came time for the main event of High Rollerz 23, and Merab Dvalishvili gave the fans exactly the kind of results they were looking for in his match against Darren Branch. The UFC contender is currently ranked third in the Bantamweight division and holds a 15-4 professional record that includes win over elite competitors like Jose Aldo and Marlon Moraes. He looked calm and in control throughout the match and landed a beautiful blast knee-slice pass that saw him glide straight into kesa-gatame. From there, Dvalishvili adjusted his grip slightly to get strong choking pressure from the position and squeezed until he forced Branch to tap.
