Grapple Beasts have just become one of the first brands to launch an NFT project that is inspired by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. There have been a handful of experiments with NFTs within the BJJ community in the past, like Gordon Ryan’s release of his own NFT project that included a lifetime subscription to any of his instructional releases. This particular project was created by Mick Cartwright, a BJJ practitioner and army veteran who started with the goal of creating a community to support one another throughout their journey in the art.
The release has seen 3000 NFTs made available to the public on March 18th, 2023, and Grapple Beasts have already set out a roadmap for the future of the brand as well. Grapple Beasts also announced the Educate to Elevate initiative within their project, where they’re providing exclusive access to free courses for any NFT holders. The brand has actually made plans for both specific dates and when certain percentages of the NFTs are sold, with their first merchandise designs coming in May 2023 and the online merchandise store being launched in June 2023.
When 25% of the available NFTs (750) have been sold, Grapple Beasts will be hiring new team-members to help the business reach even greater heights. Two things will happen then when 50% of them (1500) are sold, the brand will be launching a charity giveaway and also developing their first online course. Then finally, when 75% of the NFTs (2250) have been sold, they’ll be doing another charity giveaway along with random airdrops and giveaways for purchasers. The brand has already named two particular BJJ charities that are close to their hearts as well, both of whom work extensively with veterans; We Defy Foundation and Reorg.
