Gordon Ryan has now revealed the date and location of the very first class that he’ll be teaching in Austin, Texas after his return from Puerto Rico to the American mainland. It’s been a few weeks since he made public his intention to make a move to the lone star state to open up a new gym and start teaching alongside the two men who have had the biggest impact on his Jiu-Jitsu career. Both Garry Tonon and John Danaher are coming with him and they will also be permanent fixtures at the new gym once they finally manage to get the facility set up.

Until then, the group have had to find a temporary home in the state in order to start putting down roots and continue their Jiu-Jitsu and MMA careers. In a post to his official Instagram account, Gordon Ryan has announced that the existing Renzo Gracie Academy Austin will be the group’s home for the foreseeable future as they start to build their gym in Texas. September 19th will be the day that their classes start at RGA Austin and anyone is welcome to sign up to their classes now, with the ability to transition over to the new gym once it opens.

This is in contrast to the other half of the Danaher Death Squad, Ethan Crelinsten, Nicky Ryan, Nicky Rodriguez, and Craig Jones. They managed to move to Austin last month and set up their gym in fully decorated and fitted out facilities, creating the permanent home for B-Team Jiu-Jitsu incredibly quickly. For anyone living in the city, their options for elite-level Jiu-Jitsu instruction just went through the roof and given the calibre of competitors that both will have, visits from other elite talent seems like it would likely be a pretty common occurrence in either gym, just as it was when they trained as one cohesive unit.
