BJJ Stars 16 is scheduled for July 25th, 2025 and the promotion has just announced the full lineup for an incredible no gi absolute grand prix along with several superfights. There will be two titles on the line too, starting with the return of one of the most successful BJJ Stars competitors; Anna Rodrigues. She has only recently recovered from ACL surgery and is already looking for the biggest challenges possible, as she puts the featherweight title on the line against Julia Alves. In the second title-fight of the night, Helena Crevar and Thalyta Silva will be battling it out for the promotion’s vacant middleweight title.

The main attraction is obviously going to be the no gi absolute grand prix though, and there’s some seriously impressive contenders in the bracket fighting for the 100,000 Brazilian Real grand prize. Josh Saunders is probably the biggest man in the lineup and he’ll have the physical advantage over pretty much everyone, but size isn’t everything of course. Potentially his toughest challenge will come from one of the most experienced heavyweights in the world, veteran contender Roberto ‘Cyborg’ Abreu. There’s also Haisam Rida and Devhonte Johnson, two physically-imposing athletes who are capable of beating anyone in their weight class on the right day.

Javier Zaruski is a little bit of a dark horse when it comes to the bigger men in the tournament and although the Argentinian hasn’t had as much experience at the highest level as some of his opponents, he has had more than enough success to be a real threat. Elioenai Braz will also be tough to beat, and he already had to prove himself by winning an impressive qualifier tournament just to be here. Rounding out the lineup is the two smallest men, but both of them have beaten bigger opponents before. Pedro Marinho will likely be at least 20lbs lighter than most of his opponents, while Fabricio Andrey is the true underdog as he normally competes multiple weight classes below everyone.
