Osvaldo ‘Queixinho’ Moizinho and Rafael Rosendo dos Santos put on a fantastic show when they competed against one another in a 175lbs masters gi title back at Arte Suave Elite 30. Both men are veteran grapplers with years of competition experience behind them, and this wasn’t even the only superb matchup booked for the event. ADCC Trials winner Keith Krikorian was also competing against MMA veteran Alex ‘Coyote’ Gonzalez too, among other entertaining battles throughout the rest of the card. The promotion’s next event looks just as promising too, as Arte Suave Elite 30 will feature a women’s openweight tournament with four elite black belt competitors.
Moizinho pulled guard early in the match and he was constantly on the offense from there, attacking an armbar almost immediately and sweeping Rosendo with it. He couldn’t finish it and transitioned away, but Rosendo managed to hit a sweep himself and went back to trying to pass Moizinho’s guard. Moizinho started to attack the legs when Rosendo stood up and managed to transition through several different attacks that kept Rosendo on the defensive. In the end Moizinho caught a kneebar in transition and bridge into it to secure the finish, taking home the title.
