Finishers Sub-Only put together their annual Zack Edwards Memorial event on September 15th, 2024 and there were a few changes that made it even more interesting than normal. The preliminary card used EBI rules just like the promotion always has, but for their main card matches they decided to switch things up and use the same round-format and judging system as the Craig Jones Invitational. That meant that matches were three five-minute rounds and judges were scoring the round on a 10-point must system, revealing the scores during the break between each round.
The undercard had plenty of entertainment, particularly from Kimberly Navarro who managed to rip a lightning-quick armbar in just 2 seconds of a round of EBI overtime. Nate Chappell also stood out for a beautiful gogoplata finish in the first match of the event, while Eric Ramirez finished the preliminary card with a toehold that was a sign of things to come. Both Chris Emery and Matt Yost finished their main card matches with toeholds, but one of the most impressive finishes came from Steve Joachim. Joachim caught Colin Gironda in a straight ankle-lock and turned belly down to really power into it and get the tap.
There was also an under 145lbs title-fight at the Finishers: Zack Edwards Memorial 2024, where Molli Zborowski won the belt with a slick armbar finish over Ansley Cox. That was shortly before the biggest name on the card, Keith Krikorian, went to war with top prospect Matt Masch over all three rounds. Krikorian came out the winner, but Masch gave a great account of himself against a multiple-time ADCC veteran. The night finished on a very high note too, with Connor Dixon escaping a calf-slicer to immediately lock up a guillotine choke for the submission win.
