Enigma Jiu-Jitsu has just revealed the lineup and seeding for a great lightweight tournament that they’ve arranged for Enigma Invitational 13 on September 24th, 2023. They’ve put up a grand prize of $5,000 for the winner of the tournament and this is the second part of a great move by the promotion, as they’ve put together back-to-back events one week after the other. Enigma Invitational 12 is scheduled for a week before this event and will feature a stacked welterweight tournament that has a $5,000 grand prize as well.
The top seed for the event is Deandre Corbe, and that position is well-deserved as he’s been on a fantastic run of great performances over the last few months. Seeded next are David Stoilescu and Carlos Henrique, both of whom will be tough for Corbe to beat if they do end up meeting towards the end of the tournament. Next up are four grapplers who stand a great chance of winning even if they have been seeded more towards the middle of the bracket; Dominic Mejia, Gui Fernandes, Miguel Costa, and New Wave Jiu-Jitsu prospect Reese LaFever.
Henrique Camargo rounds out the top half of the bracket, but even those seeded below him are fantastic competitors too. Jordan Holy, Ben Eddy, and Max Hanson could all easily find themselves walking away with the grand prize here, as they’ve all proven themselves on the mats multiple times over. Josh Wyland and another John Danaher Student, Landon Elmore, are seeded as outside chances to win the event, alongside Jordan Wirth. The last lightweights booked for Enigma Invitational 13 are Alex West and Brandon Ferguson, who have been and seeded in the final two spaces of the bracket.
