Emerald City Invitational just announced that their next event will be the first European one they have ever put together, taking place in Halkidiki, Greece on June 22nd, 2023. The promotion has been going from strength to strength recently and each event they’ve put on has built on the successes of their previous ones. They actually announced the news that they were going to stage their first ever European event during the live broadcast of Emerald City Invitational 6.
Emerald City Invitational normally stage tournaments as the main attraction to their events and their seventh event in Greece isn’t going to be any different, with both a men’s and women’s absolute tournament taking place alongside a handful of superfights. There’s no news as yet on who will actually be competing but there’s several elite competitors who are almost certainly going to be available. That’s because the event has been created in conjunction with the upcoming Jiutopia training camp that will take place from June 18th to 24th, 2023. The tournament takes place during the training camp and will be just one of many great attractions for the people making the trip down.
Eoghan O’Flanagan, Rose El Sharouni, Marcelo Fausto, and Tarik Hopstock will all be teaching at the Jiutopia training camp among many other highly-skilled grapplers and it’s not unbelievable to imagine one or more of them might be willing to compete as well. Regardless of whether any of them do actually end up competing at the first European Emerald City Invitational event, it will undoubtedly be action-packed. It doesn’t hurt that the event will take place on an outdoor stage on the beach of one of the most beautiful locations imaginable either.
