The dates and location for the ADCC European, Middle-Eastern, and African trials 2023 has now been announced by the promotion and it will take place on September 16th, 2023 in Warsaw, Poland. This will actually be the very first ADCC trials event to determine the competitors for the 2024 edition of the ADCC World Championships. Given that the invites to the event are generally announced sporadically throughout the build-up to the event, it’s likely that the winners of this tournament will also represent the first five names confirmed for the tournament altogether.

Earlier this year, the promotion announced that they had signed a multi-year exclusive streaming deal with UFC Fight Pass and their upcoming events would no longer be available to watch on FloGrappling as they have been in the past. This means that the ADCC European, Middle-Eastern, and African trials in 2023 will also be the first example for fans to see what they’re going to get now that all ADCC trials events will be streaming on UFC Fight Pass instead. There’s a lot on the line in every ADCC trials event as winners get the opportunity to fight in the world championships and in many cases, that proves to be a life-changing moment for professional grapplers.

While there haven’t been many medallists to come from Europe, the Middle-East, or Africa in the past, ADCC 2022 was a sign that this may be changing moving forward. Not only did Ffion Davies win gold in the women’s under 60kg division but several other European competitors made a huge impact. Eoghan O’Flanagan narrowly missed out on a podium place in the 88kg division and Sam McNally shocked the world in the opening rounds by defeating Garry Tonon, one of the top favourites to win the 66kg division. With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see who emerges from this trial ready to take on the rest of the world at ADCC 2024.

The fact that the ADCC European, Middle-Eastern, and African trials 2023 will take place on September 16th, 2023 in Warsaw, Poland, was announced in a post to the promotion’s official Instagram account:
