The Professional Grappling Federation will be returning once again in 2024 and the first news about PGF World Season 7 has now been announced. The promotion made headlines with their most recent season, not least of all because they put together an incredible $100,000 in prize money for the competitors. This was a huge increase in the prize money that they had previously offered and naturally that led to other big improvements along the way, including four of the biggest BJJ legends serving as coaches and an enhanced roster featuring some of the top competitors in the world.
There’s still very little other information publicly available and none of the competitors have been confirmed yet, but there are some bits of information emerging. PGF signed an exclusive broadcasting deal with UFC Fight Pass ahead of their last season, and this deal will continue through to Season 7 at the very least. The event will also return to Las Vegas, Nevada and is set to take place at the end of the year, with it being scheduled for November. There is one big change coming into Season 7 though, as the promotion is moving on from the 175lbs division and this edition will feature grapplers at 205lbs instead.
There are a number of competitors who have already expressed interest in competing at PGF World Season 7, including one of the promotion’s most experienced competitors; Elijah Carlton. He actually asked for a spot immediately after losing in the PGF Season 6 Finale, and he’s one of the most obvious choices to return as well. The promotion’s announcement on social media also saw some top competitors throw their names out there, like Chris Wojcik and ADCC world champion Vinny Magalhaes.
