The ADCC Youth Championship is now official and the promotion has announced both the date and location for the first ever edition of the event. The promotion’s head organizer, Mo Jassim, has been looking for ways to bring them to a whole new level after repeated success over the last few years and this is a fantastic idea to help develop the sport even further. Jassim previously announced the idea in 2023 of hosting a ‘mini ADCC in Las Vegas next year with the best youth competitors across the world’ and now he’s been able to bring that idea to fruition.
It’s a brilliant move that will really help guide the next generation of athletes to the highest level of the sport, as youth competitors will now have the chance to showcase their skills on one of the biggest stages in the world. Although there are plenty of competition opportunities for children all around the world, there won’t be bigger crowds in attendance anywhere other than ADCC 2024. The first ADCC Youth Championship will actually take place the day prior to the main attraction on August 16th, 2024 and in the same venue at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The tournament is being set up in a unique way as well, because they are dividing the athletes into age brackets first and foremost. There will be 16 boys and 16 girls chosen for each of the 6 age divisions: 6 and under, 7 to 8, 9 to 10, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, and 15 to 17. The competitors will then be separated by size, with the 8 lightest and 8 heaviest in each age division competing in two separate brackets. This means that a total of 192 talented young prospects are going to battle it out for a chance at gold.
ADCC announced the official dates and location for the first ever ADCC Youth Championship in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
