Craig Jones is one of the most popular figures in the BJJ world and he’s just announced that he’s about to launch his own podcast, ‘El Segundo’. The name is part of a running joke that Jones has been making at his own expense, mocking the fact that he frequently takes home silver medals from competitions he enters. It’s a joke that Jones has been making for years now, and it’s slowly become a part of the identity of the rest of his team as well.
When Jones left the Danaher Death Squad and Puerto Rico behind, he decided to join forces with Nicky Ryan, Nicky Rodriguez, and Ethan Crelinsten to form a new competition team. The group of top competitors moved to Austin, Texas and they quickly established themselves as one of the best gyms in the area. They named themselves B-Team Jiu-Jitsu, further poking fun at the idea that Jones and his teammates were continually finishing in second place.
Jones recently engaged in a Q and A session with a number of fans on Reddit, openly asking those on the platform to send questions his way so he could answer everything in a video. One of those questions was about a potential podcast that Craig Jones might be bringing out soon, and he shared that it’s very close to coming to fruition. He’s currently in the process of getting everything set up because he wants to hit the ground running from day 1, and he’s also brought on a co-host for the podcast too. Jones revealed that he’s going to be bringing in guests on a regular basis relatively soon, although he wasn’t able to confirm an exact date that the first episode might be released.
