The Craig Jones Invitational has just announced the official dates for CJI 2, along with a groundbreaking new partnership with Quintet for the 2025 event. This is potentially the biggest cross-promotional event in the history of professional grappling, and it all goes down on August 30th and 31st, 2025. CJI will be returning to the same venue from their first event as well, bringing the best grapplers in the world back to the Thomas and Mack Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada once again. Without ADCC taking place this year there will be no great rivalry either, freeing up an even bigger talent pool of competitors than the first time around.

Craig Jones himself already announced that CJI 2 was going to be a team grappling event and that they were going to use the Quintet format in 2025, but it wasn’t originally revealed to be an official partnership. This isn’t the first time that Quintet have worked in collaboration with another promotion either, as their dramatic return in 2023 with Quintet 4 was done in conjunction with K-1. That event was a huge success in the end of course and interestingly, Craig Jones actually as the team captain for B-Team Jiu-Jitsu then. He was able to help guide them to victory in what was his third appearance for the promotion, and his second title after winning with Polaris in the inaugural event.

Jones has already confirmed that he will be competing in a huge superfight at CJI 2 and although he isn’t competing in the tournament itself, B-Team Jiu-Jitsu are still fielding a team without him. Eddie Bravo has already revealed the full 10th Planet team lineup too, with those being the only guaranteed teams so far. There’s six more spaces available in the bracket and no end of incredible competition teams to choose from, although Jones is confident that New Wave Jiu-Jitsu will be one of them. There’s a lot to look forward to and with over 6 months left before CJI 2 takes place, there’s still a lot of room for surprises too.

The Craig Jones Invitational announced the official dates for CJI 2 and the 2025 Quintet partnership in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
