Brian Ortega and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung will finally face off against each other at UFC Fight Night 181 on October 17th. The match was first scheduled for December 2019 until Ortega was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury and fans of MMA grappling were left wanting. The time has come at last to see two of the best grapplers in the UFC Featherweight division fight for what appears to be the rights to the next title shot against Alexander Volkanovski. Ortega’s ranked 2nd in the division and making his return after his first professional loss in a title match against Max Holloway at UFC 231, while Jung is ranked 4th and has beaten both Frankie Edgar and Renato Moicano last year.

Brian Ortega is well known for having a lethal Guillotine and the ability to submit anybody off his back, finishing half of his wins by submission so far. This, coupled with the power in his hands makes him trouble for any wrestler in the division. The Korean Zombie is no wrestler however. He doesn’t often take opponents down but he’s a slick submission artist when the fight gets to the ground, owning the very first Twister finish in UFC history. He too has managed to finish half of his wins by submission but with more variation than Ortega. Jung also packs a lot of power and is renowned for his insane durability, something that Ortega showed he also had when he took a beating from Holloway in his last outing.

All in all, we can expect fireworks in this main-event matchup whether the action takes place on the feet or on the ground. Both men will be looking for the finish and with five rounds, they’ll have plenty of time to find it.

MMA Fighting confirmed the news with several sources, although no location has been announced for UFC Fight Night 181 as yet. It has been confirmed however that it will take place just two weeks after another elite MMA grappler, Charles Oliviera, makes his return to the cage to build on his seven-fight winning streak against Beneil Dariush.
