BJJ Stars 16 took place on July 26th, 2025 and the results of the no gi absolute grand prix were electric. There was also several exciting superfights and a pair of female title-fights booked for the card as well, with each one producing some memorable moments. The featherweight gi title was on the line first of all and Thalyta Silva successfully defended her belt against Helena Crevar by scoring a takedown and maintaining that 2-point lead right until the end. Then the main event was even closer, as Julia Alves scored a single advantage in order to beat Anna Rodrigues and become the middleweight champion.
The no gi absolute grand prix was the main attraction though, and Yatan Bueno had a great run through one side of the bracket. He won a decision over veteran contender Roberto ‘Cyborg’ Abreu in the opening round before scoring a takedown on Haisam Rida to make it to the final. Pedro Marinho also won a decision in his first match of the night with Devhonte Johnson, and then won another decision against Fabricio Andrey in his second. Marinho then got his first submission finish in the final, as Bueno shot in for a takedown in the final minute and got caught in a tight guillotine choke.
