The September 2025 update has been applied to the Jits Magazine BJJ Rankings and the full standings can be found here. Although August included the single biggest no gi grappling event of the year, there wasn’t that many changes to the rankings. That’s because CJI 2 was an incredible event stacked with talent, but the format meant that most matches were between competitors of different weight classes. It did still lead to some changes though and they were the only ones in the no gi divisions, while the gi divisions were most affected by the first quarter-final matchups of the 2025 season of BJJ Clubes.
The Jits Magazine BJJ Rankings also have their own official sponsor, our proud partners REVGEAR! There was a controversial decision at CJI that had an impact here, as Taylor Pearman got a huge win over one of the top-ranked competitors in his weight class and he now moves all the way up to 4th. Heavyweight – Under 225lbs

Super-Heavyweight – Over 225lbs
There was a huge change here for two reasons, the first being that both Gordon Ryan and Nicholas Meregali have been inactive for over a year and is no longer eligible for ranking. The second reason for it is that Felipe Pena put in an excellent performance at CJI 2 and now takes up the top spot in the rankings. He wasn’t the only one either, as Nicky Rodriguez moves up to 3rd thanks to his win over another ranked opponent and Victor Hugo moves up to 2nd along with him. The final change here happened primarily because of those competitors dropping out due to inactivity, as most of the division moved up two positions and Lucas Montalvao and Josh Saunders now enter at 14th and 15th.
