BJJ Fanatics have put together another grand prix tournament with $10,000 up for grabs and the lineup has now been revealed, showing that it includes some of the best grapplers around. Of course, the organization is more commonly known for producing dozens of high-quality instructionals featuring all of the most successful Jiu-Jitsu and MMA competitors on the planet. They have also been slowly making their way into the actual promotional aspect of Jiu-Jitsu competition as well by staging tournaments over the last few years with a hefty prize on the line for the winner.
Previous iterations of the BJJ Fanatics grand prix have led to the successful launch of 10th Planet star Kyle Boehm’s professional career after he won their brown belt grand prix and followed that up with a second victory in a black belt edition after his promotion. There are several young up-and-coming competitors featured in the latest version of the tournament that will take place on October 2nd, and plenty of experienced competitors that will represent a huge opportunity for them to make a name for themselves should they come out on top.
As it stands, the favorites to take home the $10,000 grand prize are obviously the veteran competitors with big names like one of 10th Planet’s most successful athletes, Emerald City Invitational winner PJ Barch. Alongside him, one of the first men to earn an invite to the 2022 ADCC world championships as the winner of the European, Middle-Eastern, and African trials, Oliver Taza, is the other clear favorite. Other high-level competitors with a great chance of taking home the prize include Nick Ronan, Pierre-Olivier Leclerc, Johnny Tama, and Mathias Luna.
