Top UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad will be facing fellow MMA veteran Tarek Suleiman in one of the co-main events of ADXC 1 on October 20th, 2023. This will be the first event that the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship has ever produced, and the promotion is clearly putting everything they have into creating a fantastic event for their debut. In an unusual move, the event will actually have two different main event matches with one being contested in the gi and the other being a no gi match.
The first match that was announced for ADXC 1 will feature another pair of MMA veterans, as Benson Henderson and Neiman Gracie will meet in the no gi main event. The gi main event is just as impressive as well, as the promotion has managed to book a pair of competitors who are both former IBJJF World Championship gold medalists. Isaque Bahiense will be facing Gustavo Batista in a rematch that is 6 years in the making, after the two men had an incredibly close match that was decided by advantages.
While all four of the main event competitors have achieved fantastic things in their careers in the past, Belal Muhammad represents a fantastic addition to the lineup at ADXC 1. He’s currently ranked third in the UFC welterweight division and is undefeated in his last 10 fights, putting him in the prime position for a title-shot. Tarek Suleiman has a 12-8 professional MMA record and plenty of grappling experience, including an appearance at a Quintet event in the past. It’ll definitely be an interesting match and there should be plenty of action on both sides when these two men meet at ADXC 1.
