Arte Suave Elite 32 took place on February 24th, 2024 and the women’s openweight tournament produced some fantastic moments as the four elite competitors battled it out for the grand prize. Four elite grapplers were booked to compete in the tournament and it was clear right from the start that there was going to be plenty of action on the mats. There were dozens of superfights taking place before the tournament too, and these ended up delivering some fun matchups and highlight-reel submission finishes throughout the night.

This all built up to the semi-final rounds of the tournament, and the two competitors who were early favorites in the four-woman bracket both managed to make it through them unscathed. Thamara Ferreira was up first against Jordan Patrick and she managed to get the only submission win of the tournament, locking up a triangle choke to force Patrick to tap. Next up was Melissa Stricker, who was facing a tough challenge from newly-promoted ATOS black belt Brittney Johnson. Stricker managed to get the win by decision though, booking her place in the final opposite Ferreira in a brilliant final match.

Stricker and Ferreira both fought tooth and nail to come away with the win but neither woman was able to get the finish before the time ran out. Ferreira was coming in at a slight weight disadvantage but she managed to do enough during the match to impress the judges, and she was awarded the decision as a result. Ferreira left with the openweight title at Arte Suave Elite 32 and secured her first big win of 2024 in impressive fashion, taking out the reigning heavyweight IBJJF World Champion along the way.
