There was some drama backstage at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 5, as footage has emerged of AJ Agazarm and Yuri Simoes getting into a heated argument with one another at the event. Simoes was there because he was actually competing at the event, as he lost on points to Nicky Rodriguez in the co-main event of the night. Agazarm must have been in attendance to watch the event as a member of the audience, as he was not competing on the card at any point.
It’s unclear what actually led to the confrontation, and neither man has commented on the footage yet to share their side of the story. The footage also appears to be recorded on a phone, so it’s difficult to make out exactly what’s being said by either party. One section of what Yuri Simoes says to AJ Agazarm is partially audible though, and it makes it clear that there’s no love lost between the two men:
“You know you’re a f*cking p*ssy, you know that. You know that… It’s all good, it’s all good. I’ll find you, don’t worry… This guy’s a nobody, trying to seek attention because nobody gives a f*ck about you man.”
This is far from the first time that Agazarm has been involved in beef with other competitors, as he’s well-known for having repeated interactions with Gordon Ryan online. It doesn’t seem wise to get into a physical altercation with a man like Simoes either, an elite heavyweight grappler who’s even had a short MMA career too. Fighting with someone like him isn’t a great idea for anyone really, but Agazarm is on the smaller side of competitors as he normally enters divisions between 66kg and 77kg.
