The AIGA Champions League is getting ready for big things in 2024 and beyond, and the promotion has just announced that there will be 4 qualifying rounds staged all around the world this year. AIGA have been steadily growing over the course of their first two years as a professional grappling promotion and it looks as though they’re preparing to reach new heights in their third year. They already announced that there would be a total of $1,000,000 in prize money available for 2024 and this will no doubt attract some very talented competitors.
They have already featured some of the best grapplers on the planet, as ADCC boss Mo Jassim put together an amazing lineup for his Team Modolfo. He was able to draft in ADCC world champions and medalists to represent his team and although they had some great competition from their rivals, they emerged victorious in the 2023 season. There hasn’t been any news on whether Team Modolfo will be returning to defend their title or what other teams will be invited to compete in the next AIGA Champions League season, but the first 4 lineups will be confirmed as a result of these qualifying rounds.
The qualifying rounds will be staged in different locations around the world, with the first taking place in Turkey from March 2nd to 5th, 2024. The exact dates for the other 3 events haven’t been confirmed yet, but the month in general has been announced at the very least. The Brazilian qualifying round will take place in May and the American qualifying round will take place in October, with the final Thailand qualifying round taking place at the end of the year in December.
