With its sights set on the Brazilian city of Balneário Camboriú, the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship is in the midst of announcing the fights that will make up its next event on March 2nd, and today’s reveal is a big one. In a featherweight bout, Jiu-Jitsu athlete Beatriz ‘Bia’ Mesquita and MMA fighter Jennifer Maia will show their prowess as they lead the tournament’s Grappling Main Event, in a true clash of both sports.

But what can we say about Beatriz Mesquita that she hasn’t already said for herself in the mats? Being a three-time ADWPJJC champion with two Grand Slam gold medals to her name and an astonishing submission ratio within the AJP, Beatriz is one of the most fearsome competitors to ever step foot in Abu Dhabi. With her dangerous closed guard and quick submissions, she is sure to make Jennifer’s life a lot more difficult at the ADXC cage, especially now with the addition of more intense MMA trainings as Bia looks foward to debut with gloves.

That’s not to say that Jennifer Maia is any less of a threat. A UFC fighter with 21 victories in her record, six of those coming via submission, Jennifer will be right at home in the ADXC cage, ready to tap into her experience with gridwork and her know-how as a grappler to emerge victorious as she debuts in the tournament. Ready to unleash armbars and rear naked chokes at a moment’s notice, Jennifer stands to not only be a thorn in Beatriz’s side but also a champion in the ADXC cage.

In addition to the duel between Beatriz Mesquita and Jennifer Maia in the Grappling Main Event, the ADXC 3 will also feature Bruno Lima and Jansen Gomes as the leads for the Jiu-Jitsu Main Event. The Grappling Co-Main Event will be headlined by Roberto ‘Cyborg’ Abreu and Henrique ‘Ceconi’ Cardoso, while the Jiu-Jitsu Co-Main Event will pit Fellipe Andrew against Rayron Gracie, and there’s more to come. The third edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship is scheduled to take place on March 2nd, and the fight reveals have only just begun, so follow @adxcofficial on social media and be the first to know when your favorite athletes will be fighting for glory at the ADXC cage. We’ll see you in Balneário Camboriú!
