This article is part of our ADCC 2024 coverage. To get live results, play by play, and commentary, we’ll have a live updates article running all weekend.

The ADCC Las Vegas Open 2024 took place on August 15th, 2024 and results signalled the start of the competitive portion of the build-up to ADCC 2024. The promotion has arranged an entire week of events leading up to their premier event, and one of the most entertaining elements is the Open tournament. Over a hundred elite competitors have either won or received invites to ADCC 2024 but for those who narrowly miss out on the opportunity, the Open tournament is a great place to test themselves. There were big names competing in every division and it wouldn’t be surprising to see some of them at future editions of the ADCC world championship.

Helder Junior emerged as the men’s double champion, winning both the over 100kg and absolute divisions. Abraham La Montagne stood on top of the podium in the slightly lighter weight class at under 100kg, while it was Angelo Claiborne who won the under 83kg division. Michael Liera Jr was another surprising name in the bracket, and he won the under 76kg bracket in impressive fashion. There were big names in the lighter weight classes too, with Sid Tavolaro and Daiki Yonekura winning gold at under 70kg and under 65kg respectively.

The women’s divisions were just as entertaining too, with Ane Svendsen taking home the gold in the absolute division. She fell just short of winning her own weight class though, as she stood in the third spot on the podium at under 70kg behind Nadia Frankland as the winner. The over 70kg division was won by Hannah Griffith, who will obviously be rooting for her older brother Luke Griffith when the main event begins. Jaine Fragoso stood on top of the podium in the under 65kg division and one of the top prospects in the sport, Laylah Watkins, won gold at under 60kg.
