The ADCC Guadalajara Open 2024 took place on June 22nd, 2024 and some of the best grapplers from all around Mexico took the opportunity to compete against one another. The promotion has been doing a great job of expanding their reach around the world in recent years and their events in Mexico have gone particularly well so far. This one was no exception, and there were quite a few gold medallists from previous events who stood on top of the podium again in Guadalajara. The inaugural Johnny Hernandez Invitational also took place last week, and several of those competitors featured at the ADCC Guadalajara Open 2024 too.

There was good performances in most of the divisions but a few grapplers in particular stood out above the rest. Avery Brooks won the under 83kg division and returned later in the day to win a second gold medal in the absolute division, while the under 91kg champion Ivan Leyva had to settle for a bronze medal. There weren’t many women competing in the ADCC Guadalajara Open 2024 but there was still some great grappling on display. Maria Jose Ledesma Badillo was the double champion there, as she won both the under 65kg division and the absolute division.
