This article is part of our Craig Jones Invitational 2024 coverage. To get live results, play by play, and commentary, we’ll have a live updates article running all weekend.

The Craig Jones Invitational is the gift that just keeps on giving, as the promotion has just announced a $50,000 bonus will be available for the best submission of the event. It was already going to be the highest paying event in the history of the sport thanks to the million-dollar grand prize and the $10,001 of show money paid to every grappler, but now they’ve added another financial incentive for competitors. It’s a fantastic move too, because some competitors might feel the need to play it safe with such an incredible prize on the line and this should help encourage them to take risks instead.

It’s particularly good news for competitors like Renato Canuto or Roberto Jimenez, both of whom are known for fast-paced and exciting styles. While they may not have been the favorites to take home the grand prize due to how incredibly tough the divisions around them are, they are going to be top contenders for the best submission of the weekend. With a $50,000 bonus to be added on top of their $10,001 show money, that still means that they would end up getting paid more than they could for winning any other event in the sport.

This is also another way for Craig Jones to take on ADCC 2024 head-to-head, as ADCC always offers a cash bonus for the best submission of the event. That prize is just $1,400 though, so the Craig Jones Invitational has beaten that figure many times over. Another important thing to note is that this bonus won’t be coming from the same mysterious benefactor that has financed the tournament so far. Jones has secured a sponsorship from Neutonic for the $50,000 ‘Best Submission’ bonus at the Craig Jones Invitational, a great sign for the promotion’s future if they’re able to continue attracting to sponsors.

The Craig Jones Invitational announced the $50,000 bonus for the best submission of the event in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
