The ADCC European, Middle-Eastern, and African Trials 2024 took place on February 17th, 2024 and the results of the event saw another 8 elite grapplers leave with invites to ADCC 2024. There were some predictable winners but also some surprising outcomes along the way in every one of the divisions. Perhaps the most shocking result came in the under 88kg division where Taylor Pearman stormed to victory despite some very tough opposition. Mark Macqueen was a surprising winner in the over 99kg division and Gairbeg Ibragimov won 7 straight matches against some of the best grapplers in the world at under 66kg.
Marcin Maciulewicz solidified his place among the best in the world at under 99kg and the final man to earn an invite was far more predictable, as Tommy Langaker stood on top of the podium at under 77kg. The women’s divisions also had some winners that were early favorites in their brackets, as both of the lighter weight classes were won by established competitors. This was Margot Ciccarelli, who won the under 55kg division, and Aurelie Le Vern, who took home the gold medal at under 65kg. There was a huge upset in the over 65kg division though, as the young Nia Blackman managed to earn an invite to ADCC 2024 despite far more experienced opponents.
