The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships are not too far away and the organization has just announced that the total prize money for the 2021 edition will surpass a staggering $800,000. The event is routinely one of the largest in the global competitive Jiu-Jitsu calendar and is set for November 14th to 19th in Abu Dhabi. This actually marks the second of these events in 2021, after last year’s edition was postponed due to the pandemic and instead took place in February.

It always attracts some of the top talent from around the world and with the biggest prize money in history up for grabs, the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships will likely feature some of the most exciting matches ever. As it stands, the event is not quite as prestigious as the IBJJF world championships but will now be offering almost double the prize money for adult black belt winners and is the only event of it’s kind offering prize money for colored belt medalists too. The $800,000 of prize money will be split among the top three athletes in every weightclass competing from blue belt up to black belt in both the male and female divisions, along with the top three black belt Master 1 competitors as well.
