The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour 2023/2024 season has just started and the promotion has made it’s first stop in Miami on September 17th, 2023, delivering some fantastic results for the fans in attendance. There were plenty of high-level grapplers reaching the podium, most notably in the men’s light-heavyweight division. Elite competitor Fellipe Andrew won gold in that weight class, but he had to defeat Adam Wardzinski in a tough match in the final. ADCC veteran Roosevelt Sousa also put on some impressive performances during his run to the top of the super-heavyweight division.
Kalel Santos and Natan Chueng won the light-featherweight and welterweight divisions respectively, and the first stop on this season of the AJP Tour circuit also attracted some top female grapplers too. Giovanna Jara dominated the heavyweight division by submitting all 3 of her opponents on the way to taking home the gold medal, while Julia Alves was just as flawless with 3 submission wins at lightweight. Ingridd Alves achieved the same feat at middleweight, she only had 2 matches but she won both of them by submission too.
