Polaris 19 will bring elite grapplers from around the world to the UK on March 26th and the promotion has already started to announced some of the matches for the upcoming card. One of the most exciting matches slated for the event will see Kendall Reusing defend the women’s Openweight title that she won in convincing fashion back at Polaris 17. Reusing submitted Venla Luukkonen at the event and she’ll be returning to take on another talented female grappler in the form of Amanda Leve.
Leve is an ADCC veteran who has already proven that she’s capable of winning against seemingly insurmountable odds, as she recently became one of a tiny handful of women to ever defeat Gabi Garci at the Who’s Number One Championships. She’ll no doubt prove to be a tough challenge for Reusing and the match will undoubtedly give fans the excitement they want. The other two matches that have been announced for Polaris 19 will both feature two grapplers returning from victorious efforts at the promotion’s last event, Polaris 18.
Owen Livesey and Ashley Bendle both won unanimous decisions against Max Bickerton and Katie Bacik at the event, and now they both move on to tougher challenges. Livesey is a commonwealth games gold medalist in Judo and he will be using his elite standing grappling to take on the winner of the Polaris UK Grand Prix, Freddie Vosgrone, who also happens to be undefeated on the Polaris mats. Bendle is a BJJ black belt who trains alongside Polaris triple champion Ashley Williams and she will be taking on IBJJF world championships bronze medalist Margot Ciccarelli in her match.
