Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 4 is scheduled to take place on June 23rd, 2024 and the promotion has just announced an excellent 5 vs 5 team dual match between 10th Planet Las Vegas and B-Team Jiu-Jitsu. They have arranged for a unique ruleset for the match as well, as the two teams will compete in 5-minute submission-only matches for a total time of 40 minutes. A joint-lock submission win earns 2 points and a choke submission win earns 3 points, with the team that scores the most points in total being declared the winner once the time is over. If either team racks up a 15-point lead then they will win by technical fall, and a golden-score period will be played in the event of a draw at the end of regulation time.
The two teams have fielded competitors who will be matched up directly, so once the first 5 matches have been played they will then re-run the original order and begin rematches. There are two matchups taking place in the 160lbs division, as 10th Planet Las Vegas will be fielding Brady Branscum and Spenser Ortiz against Raphael Gomez and Josh Wyland respectively. Then at 175lbs, B-Team Jiu-Jitsu’s top prospect Nick Mataya will be facing off against Adam Franck in what is sure to be an entertaining matchup every time it gets played out.
Veteran competitor Chris Wojcik will be representing B-Team Jiu-Jitsu at 185lbs against Nick Ortiz, while his teammate Jason Patterson will meet Musab Raza at 205lbs. Even after this lengthy battle is done the rivalry between the 10th Planet Las Vegas and B-Team Jiu-Jitsu won’t end there, as Andy Varela and Jozef Chen will also be meeting in the main event with the welterweight title on the line. Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 4 is legitimately stacked with top talent too, as the promotion has booked several other superfights that all feature some of the top competitors in the sport right now.
There will even be another title-fight on the card as well, as Trinity Pun will be putting her 145lbs title on the line against Gillian Noll. There’s also an amazing battle that everyone will be waiting for as two veteran competitors in the lightweight division face off, Gianni Grippo and Jordan Holy. Another great moment will be the return of 10th Planet Austin, Texas head coach Gabe Tuttle, who is making a comeback to competition at Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 4 in order to face Davis Giadoo. With all of these entertaining matches and many more interesting superfights, the promotion’s fourth event has the potential to be their biggest one yet.
