ADCC have just revealed that Xande Ribeiro will be the first member of the 2024 class of the ADCC Hall of Fame, and he will be inducted in alongside some of the biggest legends of the sport. While it was only introduced recently, the ADCC Hall of Fame already includes several of the most accomplished grapplers to ever step on the promotion’s mats. Ribeiro will fit in right alongside them, as he’s actually the most prolific competitor in ADCC history with an incredible 30 wins in 43 matches.
He’s first made his ADCC debut back in 2003 and continued making regular appearances at the event right the way up to ADCC 2022. He reached the podium for the first time in 2005 when he won a bronze medal, before winning his first weight class title in 2007. He came back to win his weight class again in 2009, winning a silver medal in the absolute division this year too. 2011 saw him winning a pair of bronze medals and although he kept coming back, it wasn’t until 2017 that he was able to add another bronze medal to his collection.
Xande Ribeiro will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame at ADCC 2024 and although this is an incredibly rare honor, he’s actually not the first person in his family to receive it. When the ADCC Hall of Fame was first created, his brother Saulo Ribeiro was part of the inaugural class. Ribeiro was busy competing at ADCC 2022 of course, so he had other things on his mind rather than joining in the induction ceremony. Now he’ll get the chance to join his brother in 2024, as the pair become the first siblings to be included in the ADCC Hall of Fame.
The news that Xande Ribeiro would be the first member of the ADCC Hall of Fame 2024 class was announced by the promotion in a post to their official Instagram account:
