William Tackett will now be making his promotional debut at UFC BJJ 2 on July 31st, 2025 and he will be taking on Kyle Chambers. Both William and his younger brother Andrew Tackett are among the high-profile signings that UFC BJJ have made to start their new promotion, and they’ll be competing together on the same card. It’s actually Andrew who will be up last though, as he’s going to be defending his welterweight title against Renato Canuto in the main event. This will be the first time that they’ve been able to compete alongside one another since they both entered the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational.
Although William Tackett is the favorite on paper, Kyle Chambers is a very game opponent who has a tricky style to prepare for. Both men have fast-paced styles but they use that to succeed in slightly different ways. Tackett excels in scrambles and is able to come out on top the majority of the time, especially when he forces them himself. He is well-rounded too, so he’s often able to find an opponent’s weaker areas and push the action in that direction in order to win there. He’s used this style effectively against some of the best in the world, including when winning ADCC Trials last year.
Chambers on the other hand is one of the top competitors to come out of 10th Planet in recent years and like many of his teammates, he’s very unorthodox. He’s got a great guard and very good leglocks, but his aggressive approach to hunting for the finish at all times is what makes him truly dangerous. He already holds a submission win over Tackett from a few years ago too, so he knows he has what it takes to get it done again. Tackett has obviously improved a lot since then though, so it’ll be interesting to see if he has learned from their first match and can avenge the loss.
