Who’s Number One 24: Gordon Ryan vs Josh Saunders took place on June 20th, 2024 and there was several excellent matches and crazy results throughout the card. Although the main attraction was Ryan returning to competition for the first time this year, there was also several other exciting matches taking place on the card. Along with multiple superfights, there was a pair of title-fights between some of the best grapplers in their respective weight classes shortly before Ryan took to the mats. Even the preliminary card featured some impressive talent and B-Team Jiu-Jitsu dominated there, going 4-0 against some tough opposition.

The team’s run continued onto the main card, as they won both of the first two matches. Jozef Chen in particular put on an incredible performance, submitting Elijah Dorsey and taking the team to 6-0 with that huge win. Jacob Rodriguez was the final man representing them on the mats but he also had the biggest challenge out of all of them, as he was up against Tainan Dalpra. He gave a great account of himself and gave Dalpra a very tough match, but he couldn’t quite do enough to stop Dalpra from winning the decision in the end.

It wasn’t long before the title-fights took place and first up was Jonnatas Gracie, who had a solid performance against Jacob Couch and won the promotion’s vacant middleweight title. Diego ‘Pato’ Oliveira then put his featherweight title on the line and he was able to shut down the challenge from Fabricio Andrey, submitting him with a rear-naked choke to retain the belt. Then in the main event it was a return to form for Gordon Ryan and although Josh Saunders put up a valiant effort, Ryan locked up a heel hook and got the submission win.
