The ADCC Miami Open 2025 took place on July 12th, 2025 and there were several ADCC veterans competing in the event. Eduardo Castillo won the men’s absolute division and went 4-2 in total, but he fell just short of a medal in the toughest bracket of the event at under 91kg. That division was won by his teammate Achilles Rocha, who also took silver next to Castillo in the absolute with a total record of 6-0. Rocha had to get past some of the best in the world for that gold medal too, as he beat Daishi Goto in the semi-finals and Jon ‘Thor’ Blank in the final.

Placido Santos was the bronze medalist at that weight and he went for the finish at all costs in every match, going 5-1 with every match ending in submission. The under 100kg champion was Kevin Crane and he had a solid run across three different brackets, going 6-1 and leaving with a bronze medal in the absolute too. Estevan Martinez was probably the next-most notable name at the event, and he submitted all three of his opponents to win gold at under 60kg. In the only lighter weight class, 16 year-old blue belt James Comerford managed to register two wins and left with a gold medal at under 55kg.

Kade Tsitos was another standout performance at under 70kg, getting three out of four wins by submission to win gold. Then in the women’s divisions, Cindy Ung got a big win over Ana Mayordomo in the final at under 60kg, but Mayordomo rallied to win the absolute and finish the day with a 4-1 record. Kauane Ramos was another big name competing, and she won both of her matches at over 70kg to leave with a gold medal. Although she isn’t as well-known as some of the others, 18 year-old purple belt Molly Rogers left a good impression too, as she submitted two out of three opponents and won the under 65kg division.
