Vagner Rocha has been working quietly for years now to pass on his elite BJJ skills and knowledge both to his family and his students, and his daughter Jasmine has just taken a huge step by being promoted to brown belt in the sport by her father. She made the announcement on her official Instagram account, while Vagner Rocha Martial Arts uploaded a general post about the number of promotions given out, with the promise to go into more detail later in the week. Jasmine has already competed dozens of times over the years and has even graced the mats of Fight 2 Win on more than one occasion, showing how she’s already a well-rounded and highly-skilled grappler.
It’s important to note that while Jasmine Rocha has just received the promotion to brown belt, she’s not your typical BJJ competitor. Just under a month ago, she managed to emerge victorious as the Snakepit USA Featherweight Catch Wrestling Champion against a tough field of opposition. This is nothing for Jasmine in the grand scheme of things though as she’s already won the IBJJF no gi World Championships in both her weightclass and the absolute division, and ran through Gordon Ryan’s training partner Nathalia Santoro back at Substars last year.
Jasmine isn’t the only member of the Rocha family doing well in the sport however as her younger brother Achilles also trains at VRMA and has also competed on Fight 2 Win several times in the past, showcasing a style just as brutal and aggressive as his father.
